Poland Business Confidence August 2017

Poland: Business confidence is steady in August

August 24, 2017

In August, the manufacturing sector business climate index was flat at 7.4 points, according to the Business Tendency Survey released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS-BTS). As such, business confidence still remains firmly above the zero-point mark that separates optimism from pessimism.

The lack of change this month was the result of a nullification between pessimistic sentiment towards the current economic outlook and more optimistic sentiment regarding the future. Those surveyed had a more negative perspective on the present financial situation, current orders and production. On the other hand, they had a more positive outlook on the future, including the general economic situation forecast, future orders and future production in comparison with July’s projection.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to grow 4.3% in 2017, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. For 2018, the panel sees fixed investment expanding 5.7%.
