Poland: Business confidence hits one-year high in April

April 24, 2015

The manufacturing sector business climate index increased from 6.3 points in March to 8.2 points in April, according to the Central Statistical Office’s Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS). April’s result marked a one-year high. As a result, business confidence remains comfortably above the zero-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism.

April’s rise reflected an improvement in all of the sub-categories that comprise the index. The highest increases were recorded in current production and in domestic and foreign order-books.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 5.6% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. For 2016, the panel sees fixed investment expanding 5.5%.
