Poland Business Confidence September 2016

Poland: Business confidence falls in September

September 30, 2016

The manufacturing sector business climate index decreased from 4.8 points in August to 3.3 points in September, according to the Central Statistical Office’s Business Tendency Survey (GUS-BTS). Despite the fall, business confidence has remained above the zero-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism since December.

September’s moderation came on the back of a fall in sentiment regarding the present and future general economic situation. In addition, firms were less optimistic regarding their future financial situation.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 1.9% in 2016, which is down 1.0 percentage points from last month’s estimate. For 2017, the panel sees fixed investment expanding 4.4%.
