Peru: Inflation remains steady in May

In May, consumer prices were virtually flat over the previous month (+0.04% month-on-month), which was below both the 0.53% increased recorded in April and market expectations that had consumer prices adding 0.13%. The subdued reading reflected lower prices for food, fuel and electricity. As a result of the monthly reading, annual headline inflation remained unchanged at April's 4.1%, the lowest level since September 2011. That said, inflation remains above the upper tolerance margin of the Central Bank
