Peru: Consumer confidence improves across entire socio-economic spectrum

In October, the consumer confidence indicator (INDICCA) published by APOYO Consultoria rose to 55 points from 52 points in September. Consequently, the index moved further above the 50-point threshold, which indicates that optimistic consumers outnumber pessimistic respondents. The monthly increase reflected consumers' more positive assessment about their future economic prospects. According to APOYO, 45% of respondents to the October survey have better economic expectations in the next 12 months. By socio-economic level, the improvement was broad-based, reflecting increasing confidence across all levels.
