Peru: Businesses turn optimistic in September

Businesses confidence improved in September according to the Central Bank's business confidence indicator. The index rose to 53 points, after having registered a more than two-year record low in August (48 points), thus returning above the 50 point threshold which separates optimism from pessimism.
All the sub-components of the index increased. The largest improvement was registered in businesses' economic prospects for the next three months. Sales expectations for the next three months also increased, albeit modestly.
FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to grow 9.6% this year, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month's forecast. For 2014, panel participants see investment growing 8.8%, which is up 0.1 percentage points from last month's estimate.
