Peru: Business sentiment ticks up in September, but remains stuck in pessimistic territory
October 16, 2015
Business confidence came in at 43.2 points in September, according to the Central Bank’s business confidence indicator. The result was a slight improvement compared to the 42.2 points registered in August. Business confidence is still below the 50-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory.
Businesses had slightly higher expectations for the economy in the next three months as well as for the coming 12 months. They also had moderately stronger expectations regarding their particular sectors and their own business in the following months. While forward-looking components of the index improved, opinions regarding the current business and financial situation moderated were broadly unchanged.
