Peru Business Confidence February 2016

Peru: Business sentiment improves in February

March 4, 2016

Business confidence came in at 46.7 points in February, according to the Central Bank’s business confidence indicator. The result is above the 42.5 points registered in January and marked the best result since July 2015. Business confidence has been below the 50-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory since June 2015.

Businesses opinions regarding the current economic situation and expectations for the next three months in their sector improved. However, opinions regarding access to credit and the business’ financial situations deteriorated from the previous month.

Panelists surveyed for this month’s LatinFocus report expect fixed investment to grow 0.5% this year, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2017, panel participants see investment growing 3.6%.
