Peru: Business confidence strengthens in August
September 8, 2017
The business confidence indicator rose to 56.3 in August, up from 54.8 in July and comfortably above the 50-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory, indicating that business sentiment remained upbeat in August.
Driving the upturn in business sentiment was firms’ more favorable assessment of the current business situation, combined with improved expectations about the economic situation in the next 12 months. Expectations about the sector and prospects for companies were also more positive. Conversely, demand was projected to moderate in the next three months compared to the previous estimate.
