Peru: Business confidence remains stable in March
April 29, 2011
In March, the business confidence indicator (indice de Confianza Empresarial) published by the Central Bank matched the 65 points registered in February. As was the case in February, the monthly reading represented the lowest level of business sentiment since September 2009 but remained above the 50-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism, suggesting that a majority of firms remain optimistic about future economic prospects over the next three months. The monthly result reflected firms' future prospects for higher demand as well as a healthy financial position.
