Peru: Business confidence posts recovery in June
July 6, 2015
Business confidence came in at 50.6 points in June, according to the Central Bank’s business confidence indicator. The result was a notable improvement compared to the 45.1 points registered in May, which marked the lowest reading in six years. As a result of the rebound, business confidence is back above the 50-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic territory.
Businesses had higher expectations for the economy in the next three months as well as for the coming 12 months. They also had improved expectations regarding their particular sectors and own business in the following months. Opinions regarding the current business situation, including sales and production levels, were also up.
