Peru: Business confidence falls a notch in February
March 18, 2011
In February, the business confidence indicator (indice de Confianza Empresarial) published by the Central Bank inched down to 65 points from 66 points in January. The fall saw business sentiment drop to its lowest level since September 2009. Despite the drop, business confidence remains above the 50-point threshold that separates optimism from pessimism, where it has hovered since May 2009, suggesting that a majority of businesses remain optimistic about future economic prospects over the next three months.
