Norway: Industrial production speeds up in September
Latest reading: Industrial production increased 3.4% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis in September, following a 1.3% rise in the prior month.
Relative to the previous month’s data, readings in September improved for extraction and related services—which account for over 80% of industrial output in Norway—(+4.5% on a seasonally adjusted month-on-month basis vs +2.0% in August) and electricity, gas and steam (+1.2% vs -2.9% in August). In contrast, the reading for manufacturing worsened in September (-1.7% vs +0.7% in August).
In working day adjusted year-on-year terms, industrial production rose 20.6% in September, following a 1.7% rise in the previous month.
