Netherlands: Businesses more confident in November

November 24, 2015

The producer confidence indicator, which measures Dutch manufacturers’ sentiment, rose from October’s 2.4 to 4.0 in November, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). As a result, the index rests farther above the 0-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.

According to the CBS, November’s improvement mainly reflected that Dutch producers were more positive regarding future output in the next three months and, to a lesser extent, that they were more upbeat about their stocks of finished products and order books.

For 2015, FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists see fixed investment growing 8.1%, which is up 0.8 percentage points from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel expects fixed investment to expand 3.9%, which is up 0.3 percentage points from last month’s Consensus.
