Netherlands: Business confidence increases to over-four-year-high in June
June 24, 2015
The producer confidence indicator, which measures Dutch manufacturers’ sentiment, rose from 4.1 points in May to 4.6 points in June, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). Businesses have not been this confident since March 2011. As a result, the index moved further above the 0-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
According to the CBS, June’s improvement resulted from the fact that manufacturers were more positive about their output in the next three months. In addition, producers also assessed their order books a bit more positively. Conversely, they were less optimistic about their stocks of finished products than in the previous month.
