Netherlands: Business confidence continues to increase in April
April 26, 2017
The producer confidence indicator, which measures Dutch manufacturers’ sentiment, rose from 7.8 in March to 8.3 in April, according to the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS). The result marked an over nine-year high and was further above the 0-point threshold that separates optimistic from pessimistic sentiment.
According to the CBS, the improvement reflected producers’ more positive views regarding future output and their stocks of finished products. On the other hand, they were slightly more negative about order books over the next three months. In terms of specific sectors, producers in the wood and construction industry were the most optimistic, followed by those in the textiles, clothes and leather industry.
