Mexico: Banxico leaves interest rates unchanged

At its latest meeting on 27 May, the Central Bank (Banxico) left the policy rate unchanged at 4.50%, in a decision widely anticipated by the market. Interest rates have been at the current record-low since July 2009 and, as inflationary pressures remain subdued, Banxico is broadly expected to maintain its current monetary policy stance thought the year.
