Malaysia: Industrial output slows for the third month in a row
January 10, 2012
In November, industrial production grew 1.8% over the same month last year, down from a 2.9% increase in October (previously reported: +2.8% year-on-year). Moreover, the print came in below market expectations, which had industrial production expanding 3.5%. The moderation seen in October was mainly due to slower growth in manufacturing, as flooding in Thailand disrupted supply chains. Owing to the weak November outturn, annual average growth in industrial production slowed from 1.6% in October to 1.4% in November.
