May 10, 2019
Industrial production grew 3.1% year-on-year in March, up from February’s 1.7% growth and surpassing market analysts’ expectations of a 2.4% outturn. March’s print reflected a stronger expansion in the manufacturing sector and a less pronounced contraction in the mining sector.
In month-on-month terms, industrial output expanded 1.2% in March, rebounding from February’s 2.0% decline. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production was unchanged at February’s 2.8% in March.
