Lithuania: Inflation remains stable in December

January 9, 2013

In December, consumer prices fell 0.1% over the previous month, which followed the 0.2% decline recorded in November. According to the statistical institute, the result mainly reflected lower prices for fuels and lubricants as well as for clothing.

Despite the monthly price decrease, annual headline inflation remained stable at 2.8% in December. Meanwhile, annual average HICP inflation (based on the harmonized index of consumer prices) inched down from 3.3% in October to 3.2% in November, the latest month for which data are available.
