Lithuania: Industrial production slows in December
January 22, 2013
In December, industrial production expanded 3.7% over the same month the year before, which was below the 9.4% rise observed in November. The deceleration was mainly driven by a slowdown in manufacturing growth as well as a drop in mining and quarrying.
On a monthly basis, industrial production rose 0.2% over the previous period in seasonally adjusted terms (November: -0.7% month-on-month). Overall in 2012, industrial production growth averaged 4.5%, which was below the 7.8% increase registered in 2011.
