Lithuania: Industrial production rebounds in January
February 22, 2012
In January, industrial production expanded 4.0% over the same month last year, which contrasted the 2.1% drop observed in December and marked, in fact, the fastest pace in four months. The improvement was broad-based as three out of the four main sub-categories recorded gains over the previous month. A month-on-month comparison corroborates the acceleration suggested by the annual figures, as industrial production grew 3.6% compared to the previous month (December: +0.5% mom). However, the trend continues to point downwards, with annual average growth in industrial production slowing from 7.8% in December to 6.5% in January.
