Lithuania: Industrial production rebounds in April, annual average falls into the red

In April, industrial production increased 0.6% over the same month last year. The rise contrasted the steep 13.0% drop recorded in March. April's result was driven by a large increase in mining and quarrying, as well as increases in manufacturing and water supply. Meanwhile, the electricity, gas and steam sector registered another significant decline. On a sequential basis, industrial production increased 5.0% over the previous month in seasonally-adjusted terms, which contrasted the 3.7% decrease registered in March. Annual average growth in industrial production fell from a 0.3% rise in March to a 0.2% drop in April, which marked the lowest level since August 2010.
