Lithuania: Industrial production improves in July
August 22, 2012
In July, industrial production expanded 6.2% over the same month last year. The figure represents an improvement over the 0.5% rise observed in June (previously reported: -0.4% year-on-year) and marks a second consecutive month of expansion following the contraction in May. The reading was driven by a strong growth in manufacturing. A month-on-month comparison corroborates the positive annual reading, as industrial production added 4.4% over the previous month in seasonally adjusted terms (June: +18.5% month-on-month). As a result, the trend stabilized, with annual average growth in industrial production remaining unchanged at June's 2.0%.
