Lithuania: Industrial production growth eases to six-month low in April
May 22, 2017
Lithuania´s industrial production rose 1.8% year-on-year in April, a significant deceleration from March’s 5.8% expansion. The slowdown in April, which marked a six-month low, was primarily driven by weaker growth in manufacturing output and mining and quarrying. Conversely, the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply category rebounded in the same month.
A month-on-month comparison showed that industrial production decreased 0.6% in seasonally and calendar-adjusted terms (March: -3.1% m-o-m). The overall trend continued to marginally improve in April as annual average growth inched up from 3.2% in March to 3.5%.
