Lithuania: Industrial production decelerates in October
November 21, 2014
In October, industrial production expanded a modest 0.3% over the same month last year, which was only a fraction of the revised 2.3% increase recorded in September (previously reported: +1.5% year-on-year). The result reflects that solid growth in mining and quarrying was dragged down by a steep drop in the electricity, gas and steam sector.
On a sequential basis, industrial production increased 4.9% over the previous month in seasonally-adjusted terms, which was a jump up from the 1.8% decrease registered in September and marked the strongest growth in six months. Annual average growth in industrial production decreased from minus 1.3% in September to minus 1.4% in October.
