April 20, 2017
Industrial production was 10.6% higher in February than in February 2016, which followed January’s 4.7% increase. February’s expansion was broad-based as the three sectors that make up the index recorded gains in the surveyed month. The electricity and gas supply sector led the way by growing a staggering 28.4%. Meanwhile, the mining and manufacturing sectors expanded at a more modest pace.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, industrial production grew 3.3% from the previous month in February, which contrasted the 2.7% drop recorded in January.
