Latvia: Industrial output growth moderates in March but remains strong

Industrial production was 10.0% higher in March than in March 2016, which followed February’s 10.8% increase. March’s expansion was broad-based as the three sectors that make up the index recorded gains in the surveyed month. The electricity and gas supply sector led the way by growing an impressive 19.1%. Meanwhile, the mining and manufacturing sectors expanded at a more modest pace.
In seasonally-adjusted terms, industrial production grew 1.0% from the previous month in March, which followed the 3.2% expansion recorded in February.
