Latvia: Industrial production speeds up in September
Latest reading: Industrial production was up 6.5% on a year-on-year basis in September, following a 2.3% increase in the prior month.
Relative to the prior month’s figures, readings in September improved for manufacturing (+8.5% on a year-on-year basis vs +4.1% in August) and electricity and gas supply (-0.7% vs -1.2% in August). In contrast, the reading for mining and quarrying worsened in September (-28.2% vs -23.8% in August).
In seasonally adjusted month-on-month terms, industrial production rose 1.7% in September, following a 2.5% fall in the previous month.
