Kazakhstan: Growth in industrial production continues to accelerate in April
May 12, 2017
Kazakhstan’s industrial production increased 10.9% in April, which was up from March’s 8.3% expansion. Data suggests industry output is continuing its recovery from a poor 2016 and April’s figure represented the strongest expansion since November 2010.
The increase was driven by a strong performance in the mining sector, which expanded a healthy 14.4%. Growth in production output in manufacturing and in electricity, gas and air conditioning picked up the pace slightly compared to last month.
The annual average variation in industrial production increased from 0.5% in March to 1.6% in April, the highest level in three years.
