Japan: Industrial output rebounds in March
Industrial production increased 2.2% month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in March, contrasting the 1.3% fall in February.
On an annual basis, industrial production grew 4.0% in March, rebounding from February’s 2.0% fall and marking the first year-on-year increase in 18 months and the best result since October 2018. As such, the trend improved, with the annual average variation of industrial production coming in at minus 9.5% in March, up from February’s minus 10.3% reading.
