Italy: Inflation stable in June

Consumer prices increased 0.10% from the previous month in June, after flatlining in May. Looking at the details of the release, prices for transport increased in June. Meanwhile, prices for food and non-alcoholic beverages declined.

Inflation came in at 1.3% in June, matching May’s reading. Annual average inflation edged up to 0.3% in June (May: 0.1%). Lastly, harmonized inflation rose to 1.4% in June, from the previous month's 1.2%.

FocusEconomics panelists expect harmonized inflation to average 1.2% in 2021, which is up 0.1 percentage points from the previous month’s projection. For 2022, panelists expect harmonized inflation to average 1.0%.
