Italy: Inflation inches up in November

According to more detailed data for November, consumer prices fell 0.2% over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.1% increase recorded in October and met the preliminary estimate. The figure was driven by lower prices for energy and services. Annual headline inflation inched up from 0.1% in October to 0.2% in November, thus marking the highest rate in five months.
Core consumer prices, which exclude more volatile categories, such as unprocessed food and energy, fell 0.3% in November over the previous month, which contrasted the 0.1% increase recorded in October. Annual core inflation was stable at October’s 0.5% in November. Finally, annual HICP inflation averaged a record low 0.3% in November, which matched the previous month’s result.
