Italy: Industrial output deteriorates in March
Industrial output was stable month-on-month in seasonally-adjusted terms in March (February: +4.0% mom). The reading was partly driven by a deterioration in manufacturing output. In contrast, mining and quarrying production rebounded.
On an annual basis, industrial production rose at a softer pace of 3.0% in March (February: +3.4% yoy). Accordingly, annual average industrial production growth fell to 9.7% in March (February: +12.5%). This signals a worsening trend in the industrial sector.
