Italy: Industry rebounds in June

In June, industrial output rose a seasonally-adjusted 0.9% over the previous month, which contrasted the 1.2% decrease tallied in May. June’s reading slightly overshot the 0.8% expansion the markets had expected and marked the fastest expansion since January. The result reflected a rebound in manufacturing.
On an annual basis, industrial output expanded a working-day adjusted 0.4%, which contrasted the 1.7% decrease recorded in May. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial output stepped up from minus 1.1% in May to minus 0.8% in June, thus reaching the highest level since February 2012.
