Italy: Consumer confidence inches down in June
June 25, 2014
The National Institute of Statistics (Istat) consumer confidence index inched down from 106.2 points in May to 105.7 points in June. The figure came in below the 106.4 points the market had expected.
The reading reflected a deterioration in households’ views on their personal economic expectations as well as their willingness to make major purchases. Conversely, consumers’ expectations for the general economy improved over the previous month and their opinions regarding the county’s economic situation reached the highest level since November 2009.
