Italy: Consumer confidence improves slightly in March

The National Institute of Statistics’ (Istat) consumer confidence index improved from 114.5 in February to 115.0 in March. The result came in above market expectations that the index would record a slight decrease to 114.0.
March’s result reflected an increased households’ willingness to buy durable goods as well as an improvement in households’ assessment of the current and future general economic situation.
