Israel: Consumer prices in October record steepest annual drop in seven months

In October, consumer prices rose 0.1% over the previous month. The figure contrasted the 0.4% decrease seen in September and marked a three-month high.

Consumer prices fell 0.7% in October over the same month last year, which was slightly down from the 0.5% drop seen in September and recorded the steepest decrease in seven months. The average annual variation in consumer prices was minus 0.5% in October, which matched September’s figure. Core consumer prices, which exclude volatile items such as oil and vegetables, rose 0.4% over the same month last year, which was down from the 0.7% increase seen in September.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect inflation to be flat in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s forecast. For 2016, the panel expects inflation to average 1.5%.
