Israel: Consumer prices in December record steepest annual drop in nine months

In December, consumer prices fell 0.1% over the previous month. The figure came in above the steeper 0.4% decrease seen in November.
Consumer prices fell 1.0% in December over the same month of the previous year, which was slightly down from the 0.9% drop seen in November and recorded the steepest decrease in nine months. The average annual variation in consumer prices was minus 0.6% in December, thus matching the previous month’s reading. Core consumer prices, which exclude volatile items such as oil and vegetables, were flat over the same month the previous year, which was down from the 0.2% increase seen in November.
