Israel: Consumer confidence increases but business confidence weakens

Israel - The business confidence index produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) came in at 17.1 in November, which was below the previous month’s reading of 18.4 points.

The consumer confidence index improved from minus 12.2 in October to minus 11.4 in November, the best result in four months, but it was still firmly entrenched in negative territory.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to grow 4.8% in 2017, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2018, the panel sees fixed investment growing 4.2%.Panelists expect private consumption to grow 4.0% in 2017, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. The panel expects private consumption to grow 3.9% in 2018.
