Israel: Businesses less confident while consumers' confidence improves in February

The business confidence index elaborated by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) fell from 1.1 points in January to 0.3 points in February, thus reaching the lowest level in three months. According to the CBS, February’s moderation was due to a deterioration in the majority of the sub-components that comprise the index.

Conversely, the consumer confidence index rose from minus 22.7 in January to minus 21.2 in February, thus reaching the highest level since June 2012.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect fixed investment to expand 0.7% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel sees fixed investment growing 1.4%. Panelists expect private consumption to grow 2.6% in 2015, which is unchanged from last month’s estimate. The panel expects private consumption to grow 3.0% in 2016.
