Israel: Business confidence soars in January
February 5, 2016
The business confidence index elaborated by the Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS) soared from 1.3 in December to 15.8 in January, thus hitting a record high. According to the CBS, January’s significant improvement was due to an increase in all of the sub-components that comprise the index.
In addition, the consumer confidence index increased from minus 19.1 in November to minus 17.5 in December (the latest month for which data is available), thus marking the highest reading in 10 months. Despite the monthly increase, consumer confidence remains in negative territory.
