Indonesia: Inflation rises to the highest level in seven months

In April, consumer prices rose 0.21% over the previous month, which was above the 0.07% increase tallied in March. The reading reflected higher prices for prepared food, beverages and tobacco as well as for housing. As a result, annual inflation rose to the highest level since September 2011, accelerating from 4.0% in March to 4.5% in April, which was in line with market expectations. Annual average inflation, however, inched down from 4.6% in March to 4.5% in April. The Central Bank has an inflation target of 4.5%
