Hungary: Industrial output expands in June
August 11, 2017
According to revised data released by the Statistical Institute (KSH) on 11 August, industrial output rose a working-day adjusted 6.5% year-on-year in June, which was a slight acceleration from May’s 6.2% expansion. June’s growth came on the back of increased output in manufacturing, the dominant industrial sector, and double-digit growth in output in the mining and quarrying sector, whereas output in the electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning sector receded slightly.
In monthly terms, industrial production swung from a seasonally- and working-day adjusted 2.1% expansion in May to a 1.2% contraction in June. However, annual average growth in industrial production edged up from 2.4% in May to 3.0% in June.
