Hungary: Growth in industrial production slows marginally in May

According to preliminary data released by the statistical institute (KSH) on 7 July, industrial output in May rose a working-day adjusted 6.2% over the same month last year, marking a marginal deceleration compared to the 6.3% increase observed in April.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell a seasonally- and working-day adjusted 0.2% in May, which followed April’s slightly softer 0.1% contraction. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production eased from 7.0% in April to 6.6% in May.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to grow 5.7% in 2015, which is up 0.4 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel expects industrial output to expand 5.2%.
