Hungary: Growth in industrial production slows in July

According to preliminary data released by the statistical institute (KSH) on 8 September, industrial output in July rose a working-day adjusted 3.4% over the same month last year, marking a notable deceleration compared to the 6.0% increase observed in June and the slowest expansion in nine months.

On a monthly basis, industrial production fell a seasonally- and working-day adjusted 0.7% in July, which contrasted June’s 1.1% expansion. Meanwhile, annual average growth in industrial production eased from 6.4% in June to 5.6% in July.

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists expect industrial production to grow 5.7% in 2015, which is up 0.4 percentage points from last month’s projection. For 2016, the panel expects industrial output to expand 5.2%.
