Hong Kong: Inflation slides in February

Consumer prices were flat from the previous month in February, after rising 0.20% in January. The reading was largely driven by flagging prices for housing. Inflation came in at 0.4% in February, down from January’s 1.9%. Annual average inflation fell to 0.2% in February (January: 0.4%).

FocusEconomics Consensus Forecast panelists forecast inflation to average 1.5% in 2021, which is down 0.2 percentage points from last month’s projection, and 2.0% in 2022.
