Guatemala: Growth in economic activity steady in May

In May, economic activity increased 3.3% from the same month of last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Índice Mensual de la Actividad Económica). The result marked an over one-year high and followed April’s revised 3.3% increase (previously reported: +3.6% year-on-year).
In May, annual average growth was steady at April’s 3.0%, which had marked the highest result since August 2016.
