Guatemala: Growth in economic activity steady in June

In June, economic activity increased 3.2% from the same month of last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Índice Mensual de la Actividad Económica). The result matched May’s reading (previously reported: +3.3% year-on-year).

In June, annual average growth inched up to 3.1% from 3.0% in May, marking the highest result since August 2016.

FocusEconomics Consensus panelists forecast that the economy will grow 3.5% in 2017, which is down 0.1 percentage points from last month’s estimate. In 2018, the panel also sees GDP growth at 3.5%.
