Guatemala: Growth in economic activity inches up in July

In July, economic activity increased 2.5% over the same month last year, according to the monthly indicator for economic activity (IMAE, Índice Mensual de la Actividad Económica). The result was slightly higher than June’s revised 2.4% increase (previously reported: +2.7% year-on-year) and was positively influenced by industrial manufacturing, transport and financial services.
Annual average growth inched down from a revised 3.3% in June (previously reported: +3.4%) to 3.2% in July, which represented the lowest reading since December 2012.
